Bromley: Planning A Journey By Bike

Few places in the UK have a cycle network as extensive (and well maintained) as within London, and there are lots of options to access work without having to use busy roads!

If you are new to cycling in the area or haven’t been out on your bike for a while, it’s worth checking out the best route to work – with lots of off-street routes and designated cycle lanes you might just find it’s a lot simpler than you thought!

Transport for London

The TfL website is a great starting point. On their site, you can download cycle maps and routes and on their Route Planner page you can even select the sort of route you want by bike; quiet side streets which might take a bit longer, fast routes which might mean you are in traffic more or the shortest route – often a mixture of the previous two!

CycleStreets

Another useful resource is the CycleStreets tool, you can find a link below. It provides a detailed journey plan and displays useful information such as how long the journey will take, how hilly the route is and even how many calories you will burn.

Useful Apps

There are now a wide range of apps available to help you with your bike journey, we’ve pulled together a guide so you can explore which apps work best for you!
