Cycling commuting in London continues to rise, lots has been done to enhance the on-site cycle parking and lockers – the following section will tell you everything you need to know about what is available.
Parking Your Bike
There are two different areas where you can securely park your bike:
- There are 140 indoor spaces inside the basement car park, accessed from Giltspur Street and the car park ramp.
- There are 102 outdoor spaces by the taxi rank (monitored by CCTV) between the main building and the Post Office Building, accessible from King Edward Street.

Getting Access With A Bike
Getting Access With A Bike
Before cycling in for the first time, you do need to contact the My Commute team by emailing [email protected] who will then help arrange access with the on-site teams.
Please note, you will be signed up to the Bicycle User Group (BUG) when you request cycle access. All BUG members receive essential updates and information about on-site activity as standard. Please do let us know if you would also like to receive e-mails about upcoming ‘Dr Bike’ free bike checks, plus any other local cycling news from time to time.
Locker and Drying Facilities
There are 200 lockers available in the basement car park. All lockers are coin-operated so you don’t need to register to use them, but please note they do need to be left empty each Friday evening so cleaning duties can be completed (when required). This area can also be used to hang up cycling gear to dry.
A Few T&Cs
As demand for cycle parking is high, to help us manage the cycle areas and ensure they are safe to be used, there are a few conditions of use.
- It’s for bike parking, not bike storage – we especially need to ensure the indoor spaces are available for all members of staff who choose to commute by bike.
- We also need to be able to deep clean the areas on a regular basis.
- For these reasons, we will undertake periodic checks and clearances of the cycle racks and ask you ensure your bike is not left on site at weekends to help facilitate.
- In the event of an emergency, if you cannot remove your bike at the end of the day, you must contact the Facilities Team to advise them before departing the building.
- Overnight storage of personal items in a locker during the week is permitted at your own risk. Please note the on-site teams may open lockers periodically] to undertake a deep clean. Advance notice of this will be given, any items found in lockers will be bagged up and kept by security for collection.
