Essential Guide: Cycling to Central London

There has been significant investment in London’s cycle networks over recent years – at peak times, one in every two vehicles in the Square Mile is now a person cycling!

Cycling to and through London may seem daunting at first but it is a quick, sustainable and convenient means of getting to King Edward Street. There is a 20mph speed limit in the Square Mile and many one-way streets can be cycled in both directions. More widely, the TfL Cycleways network continues to expand, providing high-quality cycle routes linking numerous destinations across London. These routes are easy to navigate, helping riders feel safer and more confident.

To plan your route, we recommend trying a few different journey planners to ensure various options are covered – TfL Journey Planner, Google Maps and cyclestreets.net are all great places to start.

Once on site, there are indoor and outdoor cycle parking areas for which pre-registration is required – please see the Travel & Commuting pages on the internal intranet for details, plus lockers and changing areas available in the basement car park. Shower facilities are provided through the on-site gym.

We also host a Bicycle User Group (BUG), to send out the latest news, offers and opportunities including advance notification of Dr Bike sessions. Visit our BUG page for more information on how to sign up.
